About Pear Lane Paws Pet Resort

Pear Lane Paws is the longtime dream of Ekrem Hakolli, brought to life in Frederick, Maryland. For many years, Ekrem dedicated his life to rescuing dogs and helping them find safe and loving homes across Europe. With the support of a strong foster and rescue network, he helped rehome more than 1,000 dogs, giving them the chance at a better life.

This passion for dogs has now grown into Pear Lane Paws—a pet resort built on love, dedication, and the belief that every pet deserves a safe, comfortable, and joyful place to stay.

Q: Does my dog require any shots in order to be boarded?
Yes - we require the following vaccines to be up to date:
  • Rabies
  • Distemper/Parvo Bordetella
  • Canine Influenza

Q: Is pet boarding good for a dog?
Yes - pet boarding is good for the majority of dogs. It can help improve your dog’s quality of life in several different ways including:
  • Plenty of mental stimulation and exercise
  • An outlet for excessive energy and remaining active
  • Reduced levels of separation anxiety
  • An opportunity to socialize with other dogs of a similar size and temperament

There might be some cases where boarding may not be the best idea such as if your dog is very reactive (which is common among dogs rescued from abusive owners). If your dog struggles with aggression or any other issues, let us know and we can discuss different options.
 

Q: What are the accommodations like?
Pets stay in cozy climate-controlled private suites designed for comfort and relaxation. They’ll also enjoy our spacious garden for playtime and exercise.
 

Q: Do you provide play and exercise time?
Absolutely! Each guest enjoys safe, supervised time in our garden as well as plenty of one-on-one play, cuddles, and care throughout the day.
 

Q: How can I know if my dog likes pet boarding?
When you pick up your dog, they will return home happy, tired, and ready to come back. In most cases after the second visit, your dog will pull you to the door, have their tail wagging, and be excited to see the staff and play with their friends.
